It remains to be seen whether the Falcon or Slave I will be more deadly in the hands of a pair of skilled pilots, but what EA has revealed this week about the bounty hunter ship makes us feel like the dark side will have the upper hand – at least on the surface. “Playing Star Wars Battlefront, you should get the same feeling that you get when you see the Millennium Falcon swooping by and taking out TIE fighters in the movies.” “One crucial thing to nail when designing the Hero Vehicles is to make players feel truly cool, powerful, and heroic when piloting them,” said Senior Designer Björn Sundell, “This goes for both the visuals and feel.” Inside the Millennium Falcon you’ll find yourself taking the pilot ship with Han Solo and/or Chewie, firing off quad-cannons and missiles galore. From there it’s a one-shot deal – once you die, you’re back to your old ship.
Once you find the pickup, you have only to activate it. Like modes of gameplay revealed in the Beta of the game – available earlier this month – you’ll be able to pilot these ships only after you’ve found the correct pickup on a Fighter Squadron map.
